A Reason A Season A Lifetime

The expression “reason, season, lifespan” conveys that all relationships, no matter how brief, serve some form of purpose. You might receive:

Reason – This is when a fast connection benefits you or assists you in coming to a realization. Intentionally or not, it assists you with a particular challenge.

Season – This is when a relationship stays with you throughout a particular stage of your life. It lasts for a while and promotes your happiness and development. The partnership may teach you a lot, but it will inevitably end.

Lifetime – When this happens, the relationship can last a lifetime.

A Reason A Season A Lifetime

Reason Season Lifetime Poem

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. You know exactly what to do when you figure out which it is.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through difficulty, provide guidance and support, and aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. We must realize that our need has been met and our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, those things you must build upon to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind, but friendship is clairvoyant.

People Come Into Your Life For A Reason, A Season, Or A Lifetime

People enter your life for many reasons, such as seasons or lifetimes.

Brian A. “Drew” Chalker’s poem begins with this sentence. The idea of “reason, season, and lifespan” has been widely adopted since the poem’s first success.

Our friendships impact our emotional and physical health, according to 2021 research. Additionally, as a 2018 study demonstrates, friendships can raise your quality of life and level of happiness.

Even though the poem is about friendships, it may be beneficial to see all relationships this way.

Relationship Based On Reason

Even short-lived relationships can be advantageous. A brief encounter with a stranger can significantly alter your life.

Examples of reason relationships are:

  • You may have heard about someone’s recent international vacation from a stranger you met in the park. You were motivated to consider going abroad due to this chat, and you are now grateful to them for that.
  • You had a replacement teacher for one day in elementary school. He praised your creativity and urged you to keep creating art. Later on, you chose to pursue a career in design.
  • You had a three-month relationship. You ended it when it eventually turned harmful. The relationship taught you to advocate for yourself, even though it hurt.
  • Before things ended, you had a friend with benefits for a few weeks. They made you feel better about your body even though you no longer communicate.

Relationship Based On Season

Even though a seasoned relationship lasts longer, it ends ultimately, whether amicably or not.

Here are some illustrations of how the seasons relate:

  • You made a friend in college who encouraged you to open up and get used to living away from home. They positively affected your self-confidence although you are no longer in contact with them.
  • Before being divorced, you were married for a while. Even though you and your ex outgrew one another, you had a beneficial impact on one another’s lives.
  • You learned a lot about your trade from your first supervisor. Although you currently work elsewhere, their lessons created the groundwork for the career you have today.

It could be consoling to consider these advantages when mourning a friendship, especially if you anticipated it would endure forever.

Relationship Based On Lifetime

A lifetime-long connection can enrich your life, help you grow, and teach you more about yourself and the world around you.

Lifetime friends assist you as you go through different periods of life, whether the relationship is with a family member, a childhood friend, or a friend you made as an adult.

Friendships provide a lot of advantages. Positive, healthy friendships can aid your personal development and reduce stress and loneliness.

Final Thoughts

Some people believe that each person who enters your life does so for a specific purpose, season, or lifetime. No matter how long a friendship lasts, it can always benefit you, even if it’s only to teach you how to recognize warning signs.

Even when a relationship goes wrong, reflecting on the good times and lessons you learned from it may be beneficial. It could be consoling to keep the good in mind while accepting the terrible, even though these positive features don’t necessarily make the pain disappear.
